after 5 years of dealing with the m1000 I have found, the first mod you have to make if you have a big track, ride in snow, and go up more than a 2% grade is to GEAR IT DOWN, they come out of the box imorally high geared, you can't fix clutching on a sled that big and heavy with that much torque usually owned by BIG HEAVY RIDERS, when the clutch's are just barely capable of handling 440 cc hp. You have to give the clutch's a mechanical advantage over the drive system or pay with frustration.

Now that the m1000 is approaching antique status and Craigslist is ripe with cheap M1000's, new owners with same story over and over call or stop by, blah blah blah... seller had this spare sled, doesn't ride it anymore, make you heck of a deal. Great reliable sleds for this county, RIGHT AFTER YOU GEAR IT DOWN. tons of these sled being given away because old owner was too proud to gear it down and accept going less than 123 mph.
