If you want something durable go with Timebersled. The are made from perforated aluminum, not some cheap fabric or mesh. I put a pair on my M8 and let me tell you, if i manage to put a hole in them im going to have a lot bigger issues that a broken side vent.

Cool idea! BUT.... One HUGE PROBLEM!....... SNOW STICKS TO ALUMINUM!:( Snow DOESN'T stick to the fabric most vents are made with.:D

Good luck! Let us know how it goes!:D:beer; Nice lookin sled!:face-icon-small-hap

True but i find it easier and cheaper to brush them off a couple times a ride than to replace them.

So you ran these last year on another sled?

I would guess that the snow would stick to the edge of each hole like velco! and would not come off by brushing them off. Each hole would be plugged with ice after you brush the side off.

If you look at my sled here, I have the aluminum grate on the stock air intakes on the side of the head lights. The snow sticks to them and inside them. I see your side vents not working as good as you hope!:(

The Frogzskin vents have been great on my sled! I ride in the tree's allot! and have only got 2 holes in each side of my Frogzskin vents in over 3500 miles. Payed $99.00 for them and lost weight by installing them the way I did. A good hole pattern has worked best for me.:face-icon-small-hap

2Cool Vents are doing their job.....

I bought these last year and have them on my 06 M7. The 2Cool vents have done the job.

The customer support and fast shipping was excellent.

Great folks here and they made sure everything went well and was working, after sale and delivery.

For me, that makes the difference on whom I will give my money to in the market today.

A cheaper price does not mean a better and more functional product. You need to continue to do your own research, off this website, and determine what will work best for you. How and where you ride should be part of your decision as well.

Anybody can say anything they want and how it pertains to them, but it does not mean their opinion/experience will fit you and your situation/circumstances.

Just .02 from an old fart!!

I had good luck with the BDX, Easy to install & I like the "keep it simple" approach. They took some good hits last year from trees and clutches, held up good.

I got my BDX side panel vents today, they look pretty solid. I figured they will last as long as any other vent since they're basically made of the same material and they're alot cheaper.

I have done some custom vent mods myself. I purchased a 2'x2' sheet of perforated aluminum with 1/8" holes (from ebay). I cut some square holes on either side of the speedo and one in the horizontal surface in front of the handlebar, cut some pieces of mesh and riveted them on. it took a few hours total but i think it looks nice and it was cheep.
Another easy mod is to port the steering column opening and to swiss cheese the heat shield under the hood, this mod works well and looks clean.

Put my xxx mod rod vents on today and they look and fit great. Only complaint I have is the vents didnt come with any Instruction at all. I Know they are easy but even saying what size drill bit to use for the rivits or somthing would have helped a little...
