'24 brake lever free play

Just bought a new 23 boost and swapped out the high bars for low ones. The amount of play in the lever is crazy. Guess I need to source a different brake lever.

The 23 is night and day better than the 24
Rode a friends 24 9R today and his brakes didn’t feel any better or worse then my 23 boost. I don’t have big hands and the lever just touches my other fingers. 22 boost brakes were too touchy and now these ones have too much play.

My brakes on my 24 9r are flat out dangerous, like every one else out there, the leaver hit my knuckles, pol went from having the best brakes in the biz to the worst. It's Soo bad, it's greatly affected my tree riding abilities, I own the quickest reving motor in the biz, and I can't control it🤮🤮. Dealer just checked, can't get a 23 rotor, they automatically go to a 24, tks POLARIS, for ****ING up a good thing, the new cat catalyst 858 is starting to look real good.

Just cut the lever off at 1” long.

Works great and takes less time than complaining about it.

I don’t think you get the issue. In my experience with this years sled, the 24 brake performance is like it’s from an 80s Cadillac Eldorado. The 22-23 brakes performed like it was from a Porsche GT3.

These complaints are legitimate. It is a serious set back for overall ride ability of these sleds.

😂 That would be one hell of a bleed job to make that caddy feel like a Porsche.

No - by design for 24, there’s free play before any engagement. No matter how many times you bleed it, no matter what lever you put on it, that’s what you get.

Has anyone compared the levers? Any chance the nub on the lever that engages the plunger is shorter?

I thought the 22 was awesome and then they had to screw it up. They just had some that were dragging from the factory, that started fires. They then blamed it on the consumer. That was my bet. 22 brake was best one to date and then they screwed it up. Touchy until used to it.

My 24 was soggy for the first 10 miles or so. Def not properly bled. The air worked itself out and it and they are back to how they are supposed to work. Nice tight and responsive, same as how they've been since the belt drive came out.

Tiny bit more free play in thr handle then thr 22/23 but I also am not having issues with overheating braked and melting QD belts like many guys have issues with.

Has the dragging brake/defuel been resolved with the extra play?

Except there’s multiple people in this thread saying they have good brakes and I personally know of 2 24’s that have excellent brake feel.

So I repeat. “They need bled”

I have 2- 2024 9Rs and there is a little bit more freeplay than the 2- 2022 Khaos's I had before but not a lot more like some people stating. Maybe the ones with the more freeplay will work itself out like Wheel House is stating or maybe just need to bleed them but don't think I will have an issue with the two 2024s I have.

Just measured so I could confirm my feelings about this. I have two 146”, one -22 and one -24. The difference is with the same logic handle; 15mm on -22 and 30mm on the -24.
Double trouble 🤔

I finally got around to bleeding my brake. There is a slight improvement in free travel, which reduced around 1/8" after bleeding.

So that's not necessarily the smoking gun, but may help some people.
