It has become very difficult to find non-ethanol premium (labeled as such) up north this year. That said, all "ethanol" fuel is simply labeled "contains up to 10% ethanol" on the pumps. Could be anywhere in the 0% --> 10% range and you will never know unless you test. We have tested and have never seen 10% ....typically around 5% +/- ....could easily be approaching 0% depending on the batch.
That said...I suspect all of us who have been around fuels most of our lives are having a TOUGH time imagining a circumstance where conventional 91 would be explosive and 10% ethanol 91 would not.

Why is everyone freaking out?…It’s a voluntary recall not a stop ride notice.
Like other said, its a just a liability thing. As an engineer I see the cover your a** stuff all the time, since maybe one sled might have blown up out of many thousands. They didn't know why and needed to do something so the lawyers likely told the engineers to just figure some smart solution to say that's hard to argue against for a settlement case and they made up this BS, knowing all of us will continue to run clear. This recall for was all axys and matryx, so a huge number of sleds, and we hear about all the issues online now, I've never heard of happening. Your more likely to get impaled by your buddies hyfax or knocked out by a runaway primary.

So, now Polaris wants you guys who ponied up for a half-broke sled to run garbage fuel and give back 10 HP by running it in ethanol mode. I'm sure somebody will say giving up 10 HP is a small price to pay to ride the best chassis and tell anyone who complains to go buy a Doo. Good thing I'm not part of this (Wait, shouldn't I be? Shouldn't Polaris be telling every rider, everywhere to only use E10?). If I had a lawyer, he'd probably tell me to tell you to take this seriously. But I don't.
Seriously tough, I don't think there's a thing that's changed since the beginning of snowmobiling that makes spontaneous gas tank ignition more likely just now. Probably somebody, somewhere filling up his gas tank from a leaky can while smoking a cigarette next to a raging bonfire burns up his sled every year; the only thing that's changed is lawyers and juries who are suddenly afraid to tell a burn victim he's a dumb@$$. Personally, no way would I mess with inferior gas that degrades in weeks, not months, and give back HP if I don't have to. I also can't see where you have anything to lose, unless you're that dumb@$$ - then make sure it's E10 so you can still sue after you burn up your sled and/or yourself.

I thought you were sh*tting me then I went to My Garage on Poo's website and sure enough every Axys and Matryx I own has two recall notices on them - one saying to run 91 10E and the other saying they are sending a sticker - dealer applied of course.
Ugh ..... a couple of those sleds have 2,000 miles on them now. I've never kept the tanks completely full and have always run 91 non-e. Guess I've been playing russian roulette since 2016 and didn't even know it!

Jesus dude calm down. Your sled isn’t gonna blow up. Just get a good life insurance policy in case
It is pretty sweet watching a guy pull his rope, sled start, fire start, guy smart, pins throttle out of trailer, flames plume and guys start calling dibs on pipe, genesis motor, etc, only to watch everything melt into a big puddle with nothing to dib but the rear suspension bolts.

Polaris made an about face on this one.
Every engine I had go down Polaris called for an ethanol test of my fuel. Along with everyone else’s sled that went down at our dealership. If the found eth, no warranty.
Now they want you to run E10. The question is, will there be a new flash that only allows E10, no option for non-eth.

Could be eating crow if sled blows.
How is that being a tough guy? Why would I voluntarily take it in to be re-flashed for a non-issue? I just got the ‘24 tune, it made the sled run like it should. Why would I give that up? How many sleds have caught fire because of non-eth gas? Like many have already said, I’ll take my chances.
