At the end of last season, I was hunting for RPM as I was pulling 7.9K / 8K at best. Setup on the sled at that time was as follows:

  1. SLP Pipe/Can no SLP Torque Arm.
  2. Carls Clutching
    1. 62-42-40 Helix
    2. 66gram weights.
Over the summer I did the following:
  1. Swapped all 4 motor mounts with PTO side mounts.
  2. Replaced factory torque arm bushing (It was liquified)
  3. Aligned clutch using TRS method, was .100 to far in.
  4. Installed PRO Gears
Now I am turning 8150 - 8250 all day long. When the sled was stock, I was seeing 8250 / 8350. Sled has 110 hours on it, 100 RPM delta isn't too bad I don't think. Another sled in my group with ~500 miles on it same setup is pulling same RPM. (Just as reference)

I've never seen this much material on my secondary before. Looks like I am getting full shift out, but any thoughts on the build-up? (This is ONE Ride) Primary (down low) is from my slipping in reverse. (Whoops)

Any feedback on belt witness marks? They look even to me now, they were not before.

P.S. The gear down is AMAZING! Much more control in the trees and the RPM gain / Response is retarded now.

Be interesting to see what the experts say after reviewing those pics. The question that comes to my mind is did you start with a brand new belt after all the changes to your setup

I didn't. That belts (gates carbon) has about 350 / 400 Miles on it roughly.

Could be uneven wear?

Clean it all off with scotch bright pad. Put a Polaris Belt back on. Compound too soft on Gates.

Witness marks look good.
The bottom black is definitely from backing up.
When you had it in reverse, anytime, had it missed the reverse notch?

Not sure.. cleaned up the clutches, ran it hard and everything is clean.

I did slip the belt in reverse, probably missed notch...

While on the topic of witness marks....

I lined up my clutch using the new TRS bar. Had to bring driven out about .130"

Cleaned both clutches in HOT water using scotchbrite and simple green. Also did the belt with a stiff bristle brush. This belt only had 30 miles on it prior.

All stock clutching that had been previously running 8200-8250 rpm a few months ago.

Now I'm running 7900-8100 last week in Cooke City. Full disclosure, I did NOT put a new driven spring this year as I only had 300 miles on it at beginning of season. I'm now at 500.

New primary spring and everything else in both clutches looks mint.

My setup does not seem to leave "witness marks" like I see in other pictures...

I do see slight witness marks on your second picture, but none on your first. I cannot get witness marks on the outside of my 45C4553 either, looks just like yours. I have to deglaze my primary face after most every ride and deglaze my belt after most every ride for things to work like I prefer. I also made the move from the stock black secondary spring to the black purple ( took a little road race out of it, better backshift on the mountain at elevation). With deglazing and the black purple I can pull 8,100 R's in most conditions and cuss at my sled a lot less than before.

How many miles on it? Do you trail ride or mints in ride?

That was all mountain in Cooke City. Well obviously some trail on way in and out.

Do I gotta do a WFO throttle chop and check? Kinda like checking spark plugs?
