Buy two cheap used sleds in june
140hp 06 m7 3500km $3350
150hp 07 m8 4500km $3500
Buy a rusty ride on ride off trailer $800
Drool all over your sleds all summer long waiting
Spend $500 on zip-ties, tools, spark plug, bushing, belt and other misc.
Buy beers, call your friends, spend some night in the underground parking lots doing manly mechanics.
Drive up during the summer snowmobile to your first to spot trying to figure out the best access. Get lost doing so.
Try again next week end. Realize how bad the road is. 45mn up for 10km same on the down. Decide that the road is not suitable for a trailer. there is no u-turn possible anyway.
Spend too much time watching videos on you tube
Spend more time reading snowmobile froum compulsively
Spend more more more time on youtube watching avalanches and crashes
Drool over the weather forecast all october and november long as snow is coming late.
Call your 23 years old russian climbing buddy who knows **** all about sledding but is super strong. He ll carry two sleds one on each shoulder for beers.
Don't sleep all nite because snow is in and you are leaving tomorrow
Drive 60km of highway
Check your gas gauge? Why do you burn X2 gas with a trailer?
Spend $200 on gas on the SUV and sleds
Turn off from the highway to the forest service road.
Try to forget that you had decided that the road was not suitable for your rusty trailer but go for it anyway.
First technical uphill clinch your butt chicks
Check the rear view mirror every three seconds seconds not to loose the trailer
Relax when another car shows up
Panic when you start loosing one sled off the trailer. T bars got loose with vibration.
Send the russian buddy manhandle the sled and try not to pull your back.
Try to convince the guy behind you with his monster truck that you really have to put the sled back on the trailer before you can go ahead and let it pass.
Thank the guy after he helped you
Drive more bumpy road
And more waterbars
and more bumpy roads
Rejoice when you finally make it to the snowline.
Start your sled.
Clinch your *** the first time you engage the throttle to go down the trailer
Repeat with the second sled.
Spend one hour figuring out how the **** to do a u turn on a narrow fsr road with a trailer. (Make a L shape truck trailer, unlock the trailer, U turn the truck somewhere, manhandle the trailer in the ditch, pass the trailer, reconnect.
Drive the sleds on rocks and ice until you find POWDER on the trail
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH sweet
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Those thing got some much frigging juice
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH **** I am in the ditch
Start shoveling
Drive to the alpine
Get stuck in 80cm of fresh wet slush
Shovel, shovel and more stuck. One every 3m, then 300m then one every 3m
See the over guy with a brand new 2014 sled going back down because it s leaking all his oil. lol a mn or two.
accept that your sled can only go straight, and usually straight down where you don t want to go
Realize that you and your buddy are in the middle of butt **** nowhere white out and decide to go back asap to the trail
Find a 150mx150m flat spot with side hills
Get stuck more
And more
Get stuck a good 20 times
Get really good at shoveling
Ride back the down
Talk about how the **** are we going to make it to the top of Mt Baker with sleds to ski down all the sweet line.
Try to convince yourself that it was a fun day shoveling
Beers
Sleep well
get ready for round two
build 4 ski racks for 100$ of stuff from home depot
Invite a buddy from france who have never sled in his life and his only 1/4 weight of your russian buddy
Choose a blue bird day a week after the dump
don t take the ski racks
Convince yourself that the snow WILL have settle
Take your friend all the way up the crazy FSR road one more time
Check 23 times that the sleds are well attached
Lost traction with your truck on the first icy patch
Look at the frightened face of your buddy who have never seen a road like that.
Get scared ****less making the truck and trailer doing a u turn in slippery snow.
Realize that even sleds can make it up an icy logging road
Put your sled on the rocky patch
Realize that a track spinning track is a real good rock launcher to your buddy. (Put your tuck 100m away!)
Drive sleds woops for 5km
Enjoy it!
braaap braaaapppp braaaappppp
Enjoy the view of the beautiful mountains
Find your first training spot
Look really well at the only tree in the middle of the training slope
Crash your sled into it a low speed first thing
Give the finger to your buddy laughing at you
Decide to **** training and go for alpine again after 5mn
Make it to the alpine
Realize that today it is WORKING!
realize that this things is freaking wicked
Ride flat alpine all day
WOT no more than 3s at the time because you are already at 80km/h
Wonder why people don t have enough of 150HP?
Start getting down slope
Then up slope
Then side hilling
Find whatever it takes to make the dam thing turns
Realize that trying what you saw on you tube don t ****ing work for you
Realize that french buddy still seat flat on the sled and make it happens
Copy paste your buddy behavior for the time being
Get tired of too much riding
Do not get stuck a single time after you hit the trees
Spend an awesome day
Decide to visit slopes
Help your buddy who got stuck at the top of a hill
Slide down the slope with your sled breaking with your legs
Decide to go back home after buddy do a cobra move at the top of a hill putting too much gas and end up watching the sled going down the slope without him
burn a green candle to the gods of sleds for not putting a tree in their paths
Go down the woops trail in style
Keep the trailer front panel down so you don t crash on it when you have to load hard because your track is spinning on the uphill ramp which is flying away after the sled pass on it anyway
Be happy
Start dreaming again about Baker summit
Go back to work
Something like that.
Can t wait to go for round 3 :face-icon-small-ton
