Buying a 12000$ sled and guys are bitching about 40$ oil I have owned all 4 brands and run manufactures oil not worth the headache to switch and have a warranty fight. I tired amsoil in a ski doo third oil fill lost crank bearing dealer bitched about it but fixed it under warranty. Had to sign a agreement to use only doo oil on sled after that. Was an 800r had 4600 miles on it when sold it.

FWIW, I have run Amsoil Interceptor in my 09 RMK since the initial start up after having SLP install their 777 kit in it. Today, with 700 or so miles I finally deceided to check out my exhaust valves and clean them, if needed. Pulled the mag side and it was very clean and I could have left them alone. Here's the mag side valve, top & bottom, just out of the engine.

The stuff you see is residual oil that I just wiped off. I started the sled long enough to reach about 80* and backed it out of the trailer and into the garage.

We have been running Maxxima Super M in our race motor for the past 12 years. Super high compression with still no bottom end rebuild. We change the top end ever year and the cylinders still look brand new. I also run this in my dirt bike and in my M8, it is a great oil.

In my PRO RMK's and the XP/XM/Pro's that I take care of for people, I run the Legend ZX-2SR.

I pulled apart a 2012 800 ETEC last month that had 2600 miles on it to put in a drop-in-kit RKT kit... been running the 2SR since new... I could have put the pistons back in the sled... the wear was surprising as well as the fact that the exhaust valves were not gummed up since their last cleaning 1500 miles previously.

It's worth it to me plus 2 benefits... I like the smell of the exhaust when running this and I feel strongly that the non synth oils like this protect against corrosion better, especially when the sleds are left outside for weeks.
