Trimming seat foam

I want a shorter seat but don't want to pay $480 for a skinz seat. Has anyone on here trimmed there own seat? Thanks for the help!

i trimmed the seat on my '20 Freeride as that couch belonged on a trail sled. i did it with a long bread knife and trimmed from the bottom and rear which was flat. didn't trim the top because it has a certain shape which would have been difficult to cut and keep the profile consistent. as you remove material and again, i'm going by how my seat was, you'll also have to trim the rear since it will be too long to sit in the plastic tray.
take your time and go slow. i also left the vinyl cover attached at the front by a few staples so i could quickly put the cover back on and check things. i used a pneumatic stapler to reattach the cover.
