Restoring 08 600 xp to xm s36

Thinking of rebuilding a 08 xp 600 into a xm s36 146 for my son. I've seen it done before but does it require the fuel tank to be changed to accept all xm plastic? Anyone have any build info if you've done it before?

fuel tank is fine but It’s not a cheap path to go down, i found it cheaper to just go with skinz helium plastics.
