Yes the 09 and older are worth rebuilding if you can get the parts . I've read that using the M7 spider is the way to go. I don't want to buy a spider as I only need roller.

i priced out a spider for my 09(M7 spider) and it wasnt worth it. my dealer came good with a good price for a whole clutch which made it within 75$ (installed price of spider) so i went that route.

YES I DID READ IT. My point was for $362.00 you get a 100% Brand new clutch. Nothing used over >>>>.

Did you read the entire post here? You can't do a parts search for your M6 and show these parts separated out. If you just need new rollers in the spider, it is part #0746-090 and $124 from Babbitts. You obviously were looking at the price of a new spider, etc which is what this post is all about.

Thx Aaron,
Looked up the part #0746-090 and it is a spider assembly for the old 9 towers but it also lists it as a replacement part # for most every cat clutch . $185 Canadian is a bit rich but I can prob buy a used 9 tower cheep , don't want to take apart the ones I have as they are needed. Just a FYI these older spiders use smaller diameter pins and roller so that will give you more roller to weight clearance . Something we have shimmed spiders for in the past .

Pal replaced his broken M1000 clutch rollers with POLARIS parts! He had spare poo spider laying in carage and tried to put that in but the center thread was bigger (diameter is the same but threads are longer in poo) so it didn't fit. Maybe this is the reason why we can't hear any polaris spider breaks?

Well, he took the rollers out from poo spider and put them in to his stock M1000 -09 clutch. Worked great. Best thing is, you can buy polaris rollers from local shop. Bad thing is Cat is going to loose some money... maybe they should look into mirror?

Guys I have been using the 03 fire cat rebuild kit for clutches up till 09 ,,,in 10-11 it all changed its all different ,just getting the spiders off the 10-11 clutch is a 50/50 proposition of ruining the threads and the roller pin on the 10-11 seems to be metric or something other that pre 10 sizes IDK what cat is doing but I belive the 10-11 clutches are now made by suzuki and the pre10 were made here???any one know different???

Clutches

The new clutches I got in this year had tags on them with supplier info on them it said that supplier was team industries.

Yes the new 10-12 clutches are a metric thread bolts so the parts are not interchangeable.

I typically do not do spider as the same reason that cat stopped rebuilding them cost plus wear.
Spider 175 plus 2 hours labor 275-350 and you still have used clutch with worn bushings and heat stress.

450 new clutch.
