Mountain Cat 900 Front Shocks...

The King Cat I bought just keeps on needing more and more parts. Now it looks like it'll need one front shock; my attitude is if I'm replacing one, I'll replace both to be sure they're both the same etc etc. I happen to have a like-new set of M8 front shocks that I've had in a tub for 15 years. Any chance those would fit? Not sure what the eye-to-eye length is or anything else. I'm guessing the springs might be a bit softer, but I could reuse the springs off the old shocks I guess.

Thoughts?

According to the OEM part number description the OEM float shocks on a 2005 king cat are 15.8" long. The M-series front shocks are about 17.5" so a pretty significant difference. I would just get the ones you have rebuilt.

Wow, bigger difference than I thought. Where's a good place to get them rebuilt?

You could look into doing an AGLT style mod by using the wide arms off a zr and those shocks.
Below is the 2001 800 Le I had that i put 18" zr 440 shocks on, (LE had the zr arms) was a pinch to get them in but the 17.5" may go in without issue, though your camber will be off it really gets the front end out of the snow.
