It can start dumping hard right after elk season....

Fawk that! It can snow during elk season! Makes them easier to find and predict. Quite frankly, I have had enough of elk hunting when it's 80-85 degrees outside.

One Snotel graph in utah shows that the snow came earlier in 84 and there was more of it. A bit of a slow down in Jan - feb which is typical and then hit hard again till may. It did come off a little earlier then 83 but no worse than average.

Lets hope it snows good this year. We put 1700 miles on sleds in 09/10. Only put 400 miles in 10/11.
