Yep, Cat missed the massive 850 doo belt blowing issues, Polaris stop ride notices etc. Meanwhile, Cat is humbly producing the Alpha and walking on the competition with a reliable sled. Haha
I wasn't referring to the engine primarily, I was referring to the chassi. The 800 engine was more or less the only thing I liked on the old sled, the rest of it felt like something a bunch of guys cobbled together from scrap bin parts over a weekend. And I wouldn't call the Alpha skid "reliable", the mono rail is fragile as leaf thin glass and is connected to the rest of the skid with M6 bolts... That mono skid is falling to pieces regularly for guys not even riding hard.... And don't even get me starting on belts. Early years the "current" AC chsssi sleds blew belts like no Doo has before or after so...
Anyways. I like the look of the Catalyst. I wont say it's impossible I will be looking that way next time i change sleds. Luckily that's two years from now so I'll have the chance to observe from a distance for a while before I consider taking the leap.
Something I really think Cat should do though is clean the handlebars up. At least on powder sleds no other controls than throttle and brake should be on the handle bars. Get those heater/reverse etc controls off the bars!!!
