With less pitch and a lug every row on the outside of the track have any of you noticed there is a improvement for aggressive riders in technical terrain or in poor snow over the 3.5” pitched alpha track?

Not concerned with deep/good snow performance.

Have heard multiple reports that the 2.6 is quite a bit better than the 3.0 powerclaw in less than stellar snow.

It's a much better all around track than the 3' IMO, you do give up a little deep fluff performance but it more than makes up for it everywhere else. Plus you don't have to worry about chucking lugs off of it if you decide you want to haul butt into your favorite zone.

Having had both tracks now, I do believe the 2.6 is a better all around track. I've also found the 2.6 to be more durable the 3.0. The 3.0 is the awesome for those deep days but the 2.6 is probably a better bet for the majority of the days most of us get. I noticed that it hooked up really well in the late season set up snow and would hold a sidehill on the harder snow better than the 3.0. Having said that I think the 3.0 inch works fine and you really can't go wrong, but in my opinion the 2.6 is more well rounded track for a variety of snow conditions.

I feel the fingers chop up the snow more. When cutting them off it's more of a snow shovel affect grabbing and thrusting the sled forward, with bigger scoops and not chopping or blending up the snow.

The on "edge" the goal is working the break and throttle to create a ledge so your still using 40% of your track.

alpha benefits from extra traction when the track is allowed to conform to the hillside, 2.6/2.86 pitch works better than it did on a polaris. for moving forward. 2.75 is splitting hairs imo.
and you measure length of paddle not height, that began in the 90s, we did not call the 2" camoplast a 1.75 or 1.5 after it leaned back.
