Girlfriends sled had a junk ring gear and drive gear. I ordered a new ring gear (85 tooth) from the dealership but the drive gear aftermarket. Well I installed the new drive gear without comparing the new to the old. Turns out the new one is 8 tooth and the old was 9 tooth. Wondering if this will still jive and maybe just have a different gear ratio? Or will they not match at all and screw up the new parts all together? Anyone have any input? Thanks

Im making a guess here....
The center to center distance [crankshaft centerline to starter motor centerline] determines how many teeth the starter drive gear motor will have. IF the starter chassis is little farther away from the ring gear than the old starter motor chassis, then ideally it will have one more tooth???? :D
