are there any differences between these springs 125/340 - 140/335 other than little higher engagement on the 140 and a little less top end with the 335 i guess i should say? should using the 140/335 rather than the 125/340 change anything with clutching like primary cam arm weight. the way i understand it is that using the 140 just gives me a little higher engagement and not quite as much top end but it would be very minimal i would think. thanks everybody in advance!

Yes, the engagement difference is likely the only thing you would notice between those 2 springs, assuming they are both new.

If they are new and made by the same company you are correct, if one is made by someone else it may have different rates. Some just measure thing differently.

Another note is if the number of coils on the springs are equal. There is a very big difference in the CP purple white and D&D black even the listed rates are very close to each other. The D&D black will finish much higher than listed and the CP spring will finish more at 311 than 320.

More coils will change real world rates. I run the CP gold/white in my 600 with no coil bind at all.

the springs i am talking about are both H5 Alloy speedwerx springs. so i am assuming they would be on the same scale of measurement. thanks for your reply's!

I just got an H5 speedwerx spring. Physically, it is quite a bit shorter than say a stock Cat spring, maybe 1/2". I haven't counted the number of coils yet, but the speedwerx guys assured me that even though it's shorter, they produce their springs to be accurate poundages, similar to Cat springs. They said the have to make them shorter due to the material they are using. I haven't had an opportunity to run it so time will tell.

Depends what you are running it in as well. I like the 125/340 in the M8s, but I like a little higher engagement on the 1000. the 140 start rate seems to "jerk" more with the M8.
