My local dealer, Kurt's Polaris, called me a couple weeks ago and invited me to ride this week.

Sweet deal.

Here we go.

I pulled into the parking lot at there were 11 ProRMKs sitting there waiting to go.

We signed in, geared up and were treated to run-down of the new features.
Marty and another guy, (I apologize for not remembering all the names) and Dan Adams from Slednecks gave us a rundown.

There were about 4 reports of the snowflap getting sucked in...I think they already have plans for a heavier durometer in it. It's got a cool block on top the flap so when you stick it deep in the pow, the flap can't touch the bumper so you can get your fingers around that nice carbon fiber bumper.
I think they said that bumper has 1000 pounds of direct pull strength. THAT is strong. You can hang 2 and a half of these sleds by just one bumper.

2 piece bulkhead...you can separate it down the middle to repair one side or the other in just a short time.

These things are BEEFY and VERY rigid. WOW. No sag after 200 miles of dudes pounding on them the last couple days.

To clear the snow, you just stomp down and sweep it out...it goes out really easily.
GREAT snow evac. No need for aftermarked running boards here. Sorry F-bomb. :)

The manufacture date is pretty recent.
These actually came off the assembly line...they are not one-off "prototypes".

They didn't talk about price at all. Not released till dealer meetings.
All info goes public on March 8th when rest of line-up is released.

They would NOT comment on the engine. We don't know anything about it.
Got all I know, it was a 600 in there.

It felt stronger than the Dragons. Very linear powerband as some had said.

Last month I rode the 2010 M8, 2010 XP 800 and 2010 Dragon 800 in the SW 800 Powder Challenge and I reallly liked all 3 of them alot. Couldn't pick a clear winner....I'd like a do-over on those and bring this ne a long. We would have a VERY CLEAR WINNER.

Shocks are valved to take a major pounding on the roads. Not as cushy as the stock 2010 600 RMKS on the ride. But those couldn't go as fast through the crap either. Not even close.
I was sailing through the heavy crap at 35-50 mph and hit the chatter at 65-75mph. It SOAKED stuff up.

I doubled up on some moguls and went nose first into the next one...figured it was over the bars for me...but it REALLY soaked it up and I never even had to try to save a wreck. I was clenched up and ready for the chit show...but it went right through and never let off the throttle.

I am impressed by this. REALLY impressed.

Powder carves were fantastic. I could hand some 180 "U" turns and drag my shoulder in the snow...without putting both feet on the same side and stood it right back up again like I never had even laid it over.

It knew what I wanted to do. It's intuitive.

More pics.......

You don't need to open the hood to change belts, access the chaincase/brake/muffler.

But yes, you do need specialized tools to take off the hood and they said they'll come with the sled.

Those walker shocks are NOT air shocks either. Coil shocks in nice pretty shiny silver bodies. :)

Still prototypes. That fleet is what they've been using for all the intros this year. They've had a lot more than 200 miles of dudes beating them up, so still being straight and solid is even more impressive.

HAHA, Marty said they had 200. :)

And Marty did say they came off the assembly line and weren't built as one-off sleds.

I guess it's all in how you look at it.

Not much snow down low by the warming hut...and it was heinously tracked up but we did get into powder up by Lake Elsina.

And no, I didn't get any action shots....too busy putting miles on.

Dan took out the vid cam a little bit. He filmed me doing a doughnut on a bit of a slope where we grouped up.
We'll see if he uses it for anything. LOL

I dunno Ryan.
I do remember a guy with a Pol snow camo jacket and a cool Fly helmet that did some cussing about re-flashes while Shane Hart, Zimm and I sat on Dinah Lake for a breather. LOL

Back at the barn for debriefing and feedback.

Ryan, that's not Lyle right here on the left in the grey jacket is it?
DSC008562009Feb2010.jpg

Marty said that's all the oil it has used in 2 days of riding. That'd be about 120 miles.

BUT he wouldn't tell us WHY it was using so little oil. Secrets revealed on March 8th. Stay tuned.

I could sidehill easier with this than the Dragon. Less effort and it went right where I wanted it to, and that doesn't mean it was always pointed where I wanted to go...but it go there easily.

In a good way.

When I was ripping up and down the road it just floated over the big kelly humps in the road with a flick the gas and it came down so nice and level.

Dan Adams told me he really liked how they fly. LOL

I think the center of gravity is fantastic.

Shane Hart was there and asked a lot of great questions too. I wish I could remember all of his questions, let a lone the answers he got. LOL

They can't talk about the engine....BUT I do think the engine is the same engine, but with vast improvements in mapping and injectors. Maybe MORE injectors? maybe?
