First time posting, I have been riding since I was a kid in the Easton / Roslyn / Stampede pass area and I moved up to Marysville last year and thought the Segelson sno Park was nice and close to home.
Who is familiar with it and what are your thoughts on the area? Better places to ride close by?

So I Was up there on 12/29/19
Snow level was up there a ways, about 1/4 mile past the sno park Sign there was some some light snow on the road, mostly ice and slush in places.
I made it a ways up There and turned around after the ruts got 2-3’ deep.

About 3ft of snow above 1000ft
Massive ruts above 1200ft, needs more snow to be groomed

Has anyone been up there more recently than myself?

I just got back from an exhausting adventure and a Half up to Segelson Creek Sno-Park.

Drive Up
When I went up here before the recent snow I knew the roads would be questionable with snow on them.

Anyways about 6 miles up a snow covered rutted out slushy slippery forest road is the snow park, but it’s not that easy, multiple incorrectly banked sharp corners with drop offs, steep long unforgiving altitude uphills.

Our tow rig a Yukon XL in 4wd with Falken Wildpeaks AT3W’s was almost pulled offroad due to ****ty trailer tires that were like an anchor and almost pulled the tail end of the truck of the road. PITA we had to unload sleds and tow the trailer with one of the sleds. Dug the truck a clear way out so it did not slide any closer to the edge, keep in mind the front left wheel of the truck was teetering when we stopped sliding about 4” from the edge, so we tied it off.
Determined toto ride we continued onwards Once on flat ground we rode 1 sled in and towed the other sled on the trailer to the parking lot creeping at a slow and steady 1 mph in 4-low.

Multiple fallen trees, some removed but most big enough to cross In a truck

So if you are well equipped enough (sled deck) and have the Balls to make it to the snow park parking lot you will be greatly disappointed by an unkept parking lot with a deep ditch between what I imagine is supposed to be the parking lot and the forest road.

Snowmobile Trail Report
Trail was unkept and there was a sign that said no wheeled vehicles, it was plowed and blocked so only snowmobiles could cross. It looks like 1 other person went up there before us. Wet thick base & not much on trails at first.
-No grooming what so ever
-Not that much snow until you get up high
-Very technical riding due to multiple fallen trees
-Snow got better up top, deep enough to play off trail.

If it were groomed it would not be terrible, up top it was decent riding but worth the effort? No! Crystal springs is much easier to access lol

I have chains for my trailer too... Super easy to put on and keep the trailer from sliding sideways on ice.

The trailer we used was an old pop up camper converted to a flat bed and the tires on it were almost as wide as the trucks it was basically a snowplow due to its close proximity to the ground, would have been smooth sailing if we got the right tires and were not In a hurry to get on the mountain!

Stupid me for not considering that, but we couldn’t take the 2,600# enclosed trailer up that road. Always an adventure tho and it made sledding that much more rewarding.

Would consider going up there again if I had a sled deck and Pickup truck just a long road for mediocre riding and little to no grooming.
