Reinforce Tunnel?

How many of you reinforce your tunnels for the extra weight of the rack?

I did on my older XP, however I just put the rack on my XM and the bumper seems to add support almost all the way back to the drop bracket. I'm thinking about skipping it and just taking it easy when I'm loaded with skis.

Thoughts?

If you go without the tunnel reinforcements then just get some aluminum flat piece that fit under the tunnel the length of the rack and mount the bolts through that...this distributes the weight better and prevents any problems...most guys will say put the rack forward but this puts the ski tips closer to your feet with not much room, a your gas can is better closer, I have always had my rack at the very back and allows the most room and it fine if you support it with tunnel stiffeners or the aluminum on the underside of the tunnel, easy to do to. cheers dave
