Whats the deal?
How hard would it be to throw a 144' on a 151 RMK?
Would I need to replace the whole tunnel?
Could I just shorten it?
Anyone done it?
Anyone got any pictures?

Thanks.

First off...why would you want to do this? A 151 to 144 isnt a huge difference anyways.

If your having cooling troubles or something? There are some fixes for these 900s..

With the tipped up rails it should be like a 144 now. If you need to change tracks, get a shorter paddle in a 151 that is fully clipped for trail riding.

As far as cooling, if you go shorter "because of the heat exchanger location" you will need to use ice scratchers a lot more. Cooling is very important on the 900's

As far as converting it, find a switchback chassis.

No theres no cooling problems at all.
Its a great running sled.
151's just too long.
I dont get up into the mountains enough.
I ride aroind town more then anything.
I had 05 Switchback 900 with the 144 and it was great,
Which is why I want to change it.
But so for I've only seen 3 Switchbacks in Alaska.
They are really hard to find.
And I've put so much into this sled,
I really dont feel like selling and finding a new one.

Other than overall sled length, I don't think you will gain that much with a 144 because of the tip up rails on the 151. Just my opinion.

well even though it is too late now, i had 4.5 inches cut out of my 155 tunnel and coolers when i went to a 144. i had greatland out in palmer do it for me. came out great. not sure if how different an 07 rmk tunnel is from a 900 but i'm sure it could be done.
