At dealer today. The 2013's have at least 3 additions to the clutch-side panel that I could see:

  1. A screw to hold the panel snug
  2. add-on to help with flex when sidehilling (4 rivets hold it in place so easy add-on for 2012 models).
  3. frogskin/pre-filter behind the snow scoop wiring
The panel fits a lot tighter with less risk of snow injection. I hope to order all 3 parts when the 2013 parts fiche is available

The screw was impossible to get started on the floor model that I dissected

The screw did take a bit to get back on but managable. I was originally planning on putting a few 1/4 turn fasteners (like the ones on the cowling) to secure the panel. (see picture)

We had 1/4 turns on the 2012 race sled last season and they switched them to screws half way through the season, and some fasteners similar to the 05-11 M series side panels with the pin.

I was looking at the 13's and that piece of plastic bends and will not be any help when side hilling, I thought they were going to make it out of metal

You would almost think a DEEP SNOW KIT would be built into a mountain sled during production.........

Looks like they just added weight! What will it take to make them listen and not band-aid the whole situation? A whole new redesign should be in order to shed weight, width and drivetrain efficiency! If you are going to attach all these extra fasteners at least make them light weight like titanium that you used in your earlier models? Now go and make all the body panels .010 thinner and at least save some plastic weight all around!

I'll take the extra couple oz. those pieces weigh to keep the snow out. The drive train is being dealt with, if you read the list Krom posted.

seems like everyone is an engineer now days. :face-icon-small-dis
