So I just received my 13 a few days ago and started the tear down process. This is going to be my wife's sled and so we are working on it together to make it "HERS". It is so awesome to have her in the garage rippin' and a tearin' right there with me.

Anyways back on topic, I wanted show some of the subtle differences between the 11/12' and the 13'. I am extremely impressed with all the changes made to the 13. Polaris has truly stepped up the game this year. At first, when I thought about the 13, I thought, big deal just a belt drive and cool running boards. I was wrong! Having a manufacturer design and build these awesome products gives us, the consumer, a much better designed, quality built, and clean designed product. There are many little things that aren't noted. Here is what I have found so far:
-The silencer
It is fitted with a new mounting system. They eliminated the whole lower mounting bracket and designed another "hook" on the lower bulkhead. This eliminates weight and reduces the parts of the sled
ECFB9138-532C-4ACC-B209-8473667DF15C-21569-00002414A1AF2EEE.jpg

-Hood Wiring harness
Polaris completely re-designed the configuration of the wire routing and made it easier to use for the consumer by relocating where you unplug the hood for removal, how sweet is that!

-Voltage Regulator
Polaris also re-designed and replaced the voltage regulator on the 13. The new one is much cleaner and simple. They also did a cool thing to I would guess "cool" the regulator by flipping the regulator upside down and recessing it into the clutch cover to let the fan effect of the clutch cool the fins on the regulator. I just hope if you blow a belt, it doesn't destroy it lol

-Carbon fiber over structure
I know, everyone knows about this, but in person this makes the fit n finish super clean. The coils and VE valve solenoid mounting is lighter and also better designed with the plastic formed mounts. It also cleaned up the wiring to the coils and such.

-Track
I also noticed the track seemed a little different to me than the 11/12 5.1 series. The paddles seem much stiffer and the teeth seem less deep resulting in my opinion a better design. Now it may be that it is new and not broke in, but I have a 12' sittin right next to it with a "F-Bomb" track mod and the tips are stiffer on the 13' with no trim.

-Rear Suspension
They must have changed some of the spring rates in the rear because I noticed a lot less sagging in the suspension. The bogey wheels in the front are also different(most people were aware of that). But the spacer shafts on the front track shock are different to accommodate the new wheel design. Lighter for sure.

They also have taller front bump stops on the rear suspension.

Misc. other stuff
Rear seat support bracket is lighter and has a one bolt vs two bolt flange, again less is more!
CA2FFDAA-C3C2-48AB-A0B0-C5DB756B900C-21569-0000241B4EB99EB5.jpg

The vents for the hood are crazy light!
DAECBD00-3DB7-4DD5-B590-D6C424DE5BAC-21569-0000241B53E5CC92.jpg

-Running Boards
The running boards are pretty easy to remove and the fit n finish is killer. Seriously, I would highly recommend any 11/12 owner to purchase these boards! They are dirt cheap for what you get.

I am kinda regretting not buying another 13' for me! Oh well my 12' Assault will have to do me another year.

Lol I know they are different, no need to pull them apart. On another thread, a person compared the base gasket to the 12 cylinder showing the cylinder skirts being thicker.

Ok, we have come to all agree the motor is different. Has it changed enough to make it a pull and go sled without having to add oil or increase oil rate?
Thanks for sharing your thought's and pics:face-icon-small-hap Please post some more:usa2:

Very cool info. Not to hijack the thread but I have been kicking the idea around of tearing my engine down when the sled comes in to have the crank trued, measure the piston/cyl clearance and also balance the clutch at the same time. With the base gasket pics and the cylinder described as offset I am assuming that the bore has been moved towards the intake side of the cylinder to decrease the angle in the rod to reduce the stress or force applied to the ex. side of the cylinder and thus decreasing the chances of having premature cylinder or piston skirt failure.......hopefully. Sorry to hijack again but keep up the good work and the pics are great.

PS....Sled Head Racing is now handling RkTek Polaris stuff.

Are you going to change out the seat with another wrp? I think there the best seats out right now. Love mine, Boss has left a bad taste in my mouth. Although being made in usa again might be better than that crap they have been putting out.

I really liked my WRP seat last year on my 12, but to be honest I LOVE the 13 seat. I will most likely selling the Wrp seat and buy a 13 rmk seat(all black)
