Does anyone have information or reviews on the new Pro 600 or the engine itself? Also is any manufacturers working on turbos, BB, etc.?

i rode the demo pro 600 rmk 155"

got to take one out for about 6 hours back in April, was the best 600 i have ever ridden! if i could afford to have my new 800 and a 600 RMK i would cause that thing was so damn fun to ride.. it rides just like the 8 obviously a little less power, but it was very snappy and clean it pulled out of deep side hills and the trees really well....

Motor is the same 600 EFI as the 2009/10 sleds, that's what our Poo mechanics are telling us anyways.

No carb version for 2012.

I rode the 600 Pro and the 600 Summit the same day and liked them both. Just like the 600 Polaris has been for about 10 years now, its a dang fun machine.

There are other threads about it..

In a nutshell...

The 2009 600 RMK was a 2 injector DC-CFI motor... all the other CFI 600 thru 2011 were AC-CFI 4-injector motors.

The "new" engine is very refined, and has the same fuel injection system as the 800's in the PRO's... a DC-CFI 2-injector motor with smaller throttle bodies, same injectors and pulsation dampers on the fuel rails.

I think this will prove to be the best motor in Polaris this year.

The 600 is more nimble than the 800 because if the smaller rotating mass of the crank... less "gyro effect" induced into the chassis...

With everything else the same in the 600 compared to the 800's... you are getting a huge deal for a little less power IMO...

And be honest with youself...do you really need the power??

Bondockers, Silber, and Aerocharger will be offering turbos for this sled... Carl's cycle will have a 660 big bore for this one at a modest price.. and SLP has a full performance program in the works for this motor.

It is snappier than the 800 but does not have the "grunt" or top end HP of the 8.

AWESOME sled... 90% of the mountain riders would not be dissapointed with it!!

Ok thanks! That's what I was expecting to hear... Do you know when Official releases will be dropped? Really thinking of a 600CC go kart with the "updated" 6 dropped in the Poo.

A big thumbs up for that sled. I really wanted to get my gf that sled so I can ride it too but have the 800 to lean on. I think the only time it will be out of place is in pure hill climbs in the deep.

Anyone know if Carl's, SLP or anyone else has a 660, 685,727 kit in the works for these? A 685 kit sounds perfect to me.

I've seen a one or two 660 CFI Carls sleds for sale, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they release a kit. I'm interested in a 660 kit for my sled in another year or so. I had their 660 kit on my '07 RMK 600 and loved that sled...minus the fuel consumption but it was a lot of fun to ride.

I've been searching for parts/accessories to put on my wish list. Anyone know if they make a push arm for the 600 in the pro chassis yet?

Figured I would update this...

Just put my name on the list for Carls Cycle 660 kit on my '12 RMK 600. Should be a fun winter. Now I just have to wait until they build my sled so I can get it home and tear it down.

That's sweet. I haven't checked any new info lately but it was nice to hear that.

Thanks, it should be a fun ride. I liked my other Carls 660 that I had on my '07 RMK so it should be even better with the new chassis and fuel injection. I will make a quick build thread once I get things sent off and returned.

Can you provide a ballpark amount for the 660 build?

Can you provide a ballpark amount for the 660 build?

Basic things:
Approximately $1600 for the 660 top end (give or take $100)

  • Includes sending in your cylinders, head, ecu, and exhaust valves
Clutch kit - $300
SLP intake - $65

Optional things:
Extra venting
Extra clutching - for flatland
AFR or EGT gauges. I might run a AFR gauge just to have some kind of monitoring.
SLP exhaust system - not yet released but looking at their website, its a $685 option. I just may run the stock pipe/can this year and see how it goes.

I have a 600 pro snowchecked & I have the new oil less Silber turbo snowcheked for it as well. I will post up some info when I get both and out on the snow. I have a 2011 assualt that has some mods done so I can compare both machines

Anyone know if the 155" RMK and Pro RMK models will have extroverts or a center driver? I noticed on the 2012 RMK 144" didn't have either.

Will be picking my sled on Saturday and may get it torn down to send off to Carls Cycle this weekend.
