Help...Picked a kit up for cheap. Wonderd if anyone had tried it? Did it improve the powder riding?? Trail ridding?? From the one pic it looks like it actually increases the track angle... I've also seen the rear shock mounted in the upside down direction in one pic of this kit. Does it matter which direction the rear shock is in? I know I should have got the Mountain Tammer but just dont have the bucks for it right now. I'm going to put a MCxpress 180 kit on it after this. That new Skinz front end looks nice too.

complete junk. i ride with a guy who put one in his 2011 nytro with nothing but problems . he couldnt get it to work nearly as well as a stock skid on his low booster . to top that off it started to rip the tunnel in half after 2500km :shocked: keep your stock skid and put wheelie blocks in it , they work great with a 180 kit

Thanks, I was wondering,,didn't want to start drilling and cutting tunnel brackets if it's not worth it.

I was hoping to get more feedback, but it doesn't look like many have tried this setup. It's brand new so I'll pm ya if I decide to stick with what I have for the moment and maybe put the money into that Skinz front end.

I for one like the setup. I have not ridden the actual lightweight upgrade a ton but I have a cat skid in my nytro. Riding the two feels very similar. They are a little different but they feel pretty close. I am happy with my setup and it cost way less than getting an aftermarket skid. I would try it out if I were you.

The one thing is I have not ridden one with boost.

Thanks, one thing for sure it is light. I can see why it feels like your cat skid. Think I read somewhere this kit was made by a company that does aftermarket kits for Arctic.

The arms are exactly the same as the cat arms. They mount a little different but they feel similar on the snow. The arms your kit comes with are still a few pounds lighter than the stock cat arms due to their chromoly construction.

Trueblue do you have any pics side view of your kit that I could look at? I'd like to see your mounting points on your stock rails. I'm not impressed with the instuctions that came with it. The diagram pics are terrible photocopies. Fig 2 does not look like my rail and I can't see the numbers on fig 3 for the new rear mount hole. It's a 2010 Nytro se mtx 162

Ok found a pic and it helped. Also ripped everything open and found the template I was looking for. If I install this thing and it starts trenching on me rrrrrrr. I'm curious how it will handle on the trail to get to the great powder.
Think i'm gonna do the turbo first with the stock skid and then give it a whirl. We have so much snow in the snowy's I'll be able to do some testing for awhile:high5: Could we get two winters in row like this....Please great snow god...
Who needs a Waverunner when you'll have a turbo Nytro:face-icon-small-coo.....

I will post some pic's. The skid works great in all conditions. It's light and only has one grease fitting. I have 900 miles on mine and no complaints.

Perfect,,thank you,,Pic #7 is what I was looking for. Right where the bolt is on my rail is a small hole but not exactly where they say to drill. I was kind of worried it would be a problem. I think it's small enough that even if the new hole does not cover it all the way it shouldn't cause an issue.:face-icon-small-sho

Hey guys, will that skid work in an 08? In the description it says 10's and 11's. What would be the biggest difference between an 08 and 10 as for the suspension?

The 2 skids couldn't be more different. definetly will not work in a 2008 thats a torsion spring suspension. Your skid is Completely different than 2010 and 2011. the Yamaha suspension kit does not come with shocks, it re-uses the stock float shocks from the 2010-2011 skid. Do the timbersled if you have a 2008, you will save over 40 pounds.
