I can't seem to find a gearing chart/chain pitch for the iq chaincase. I am wondering the chain pitch for an 08 RMK with 19/44 gearing....is it "recommended" via the Polaris chart? Thanks guys!

Got a buddy running 18/45 on a Dragon 700 and works awesome..... With a Paragon secondary. Not quite so pretty with the Team secondary!

With the Paragon you always gear down (if you don't, they wont work right). Why be geared for 80+mph when your track speeds are well below 50? When initially gearing down with the Team secondary to 18/45 it was a complete turd! Then switched to a Paragon secondary, 75/135 primary spring and around 51 gram 10m style weights that have 1 gram taken off the underneath side toward the tip. The Hi-Tech setups don't rely on killer springs and weights, therefore can shift deeper into the secondary without trying to compress a coil spring from an F-350. We had a comparison sled while tuning it, both climbing and on the trail. This Dragon runs!

You can do the math and know you arent shifting out all the way while climbing....if you are geared say for 70mph at 8250 and your track speeds are 40-45 at 8250 while climbing, you are not shifting out all the way while climbing-don't even need to check it. It may shift out all the way at higher trail speeds/part throttle, because of the lower rpms of the engine. I know of a turbo yamaha that actually is geared so low that it uses 1/1 clutching while climbing and relies on the overrev ability of the 4-stroke to gain speed past the 1/1 ratio.

the above gearing chart is not for the 8.373 raw case..the raw case uses a 76 pitch chain with 19/41 gears stock..it does not show a 19/44..only 2 it shows below stock is 19/42(76 pitch) and a 19/46(78 pitch)the 19/42 comes out at a 2.21 gear ratio..the 19/46 is a 2.42 ratio..hope that helps....

Good catch man... I did some digging and found the correct chart for the IQ RAW sleds and edited it in above..... sorry for the confusion.

The editted chart still don't show a 19/44, but the chain you use is a 78 pitch.

the reason it doesnt show on the chart is polaris doesnt recommend running it in the 8.373 case...they only show what they recommend as acceptable gearing..due to the amount of dogleg in the chain with that gearing combo.....I think you could run19/45 with a 78 pitch chain without issues...

19-43

I'm currently running 19-42 on my 09 700 and it seems good, but I'm wondering about 19-43. I mostly tree ride in the steep and deep and feel a little more low end would be good, and easier on the clutches. Question is would I even feel a difference from what I have, and do I need a new chain pitch for this ratio? I do trail ride to the goods, so 19-44 may be too low I'm thinking.:face-icon-small-coo
