Best rpms for 1000's SLP exhaust

I know SLP recommends 7700rpms for peek HP. Just wandering what everyone else is finding. My is 09 1000 with just SLP exhaust & attitude box set @
green 0
yellow 0
red 4.5
Yellow Blue 4.5
Red Green 6.7
no intake & run @ 1300ft.

at 10,000ft with my dads slp piped 1000 i have been working on 7700 is the sweet spot it drops off hard at 7400 and 7900 rpms! We have his set to get 7700 to 78 the hardpack and 7500 to 7700 on the hill in deep powder! seems real strong for a stock motor! high marked with a couple 2010 m8s this weekend on grand mesa CO and there was no comparison the m8 could get half as high as the 1000. This was in about 3 to 4 ft of fresh powder. So I definetly beleive the 190hp because the 2010 m8s are strong sleds! It also has a bdx intake and 55/65 gears and its running 76 gram weights with a hair stiffer spring with a 40/36 helix.

Mine pulls really really hard at 7600, running a red spring in the primary engagement at 3400, pulls through no bogs anywhere, weights are cutler adjustable set at roughly 74 grams. The secondary is the stock orange spring with shift assist and the 36* helix. I have ran against a couple 2010 M8's and they arent even close. I wouls say shoot for somewhere between 7500 - 7700.

i got a feeling that my 1000 dont like high revs. i hava a full slp exhaust and porting on the cylinders.

bouth slp and the guy that made the porting jobb stated 7600-7800
so i put the rpm to 7600 but fellt that that i was missing power.

so i loaded it down to about 7200-7400 and it pulls better down ther.
dosent realy make any sense but that what i have found.
going to put it on the dyno this monday so we will see for shour then.

last year i ran a bikeman pipe and y-pipe. according to the dyno the peak rpm was 7650 back then.

I just called SLP to see if they were going to come out with a head or porting for their exhaust. They said they wouldnt be doing it because they havent been able to fuel it. What porting do you have done that you have it running with the SLP exhaust?

As for my 09 m1 on the trails or set snow on the hills i pull 7750-7800 climbing in the steep and deep it likes 7550-7600. This is at 10,000 ft.
Last weekend we lined up 2010 M8 and 2010 M1 and my 09 M1 with slp exhaust. all riders were within 15 lbs and the hill was untracked. the 2010's were close but the 1000 took the 8 by length and a half. i took the 2010 m1 by about 6 lengths. This was in fresh snow up a 30 sec pull. I wish i would have video'd that one for the proof.

I have been told the slp m1000 pulls it hardest on a track dyno round 7450-7550. Which makes sense it the fact that it is right between peak torque and peak hp. This is also my experience on the hill. I try to set mine up at 7650-7700 then when the motor gets pulled down hard it has a tendency to hold and never let up. below 7400 it drops off quick. Remember the AC tachs aren't always perfect and have been known to be off up to 2-300rpm but not always. I would shoot for that 76-7700 rpm (where you ride not down at the bottom)

I did a test and put in a almost solid motor mount on the bottom of the mag side and and my peak rpm jumped from 7550 to 7860 on flat ground, the motor was twisting so much it binds the clutches and wont let them shift.

according to SLP's dyno chart peak horsepower is 7600 RPM I would shoot for that if you are running the SLP setup (Y-pipe, Pipe, Silencer, fuel controller of choice). My runs at 7650 on the hill in deep snow and still holds good power.

7600 is what you want to hit most of the time . I run from 7450 @ 9000 ' to 7600 @ 7000 '

i find mine pulls harder at 7450 or so. more in the torque band. I have speedwerx but the two are almost the same. speedwerx suggests7600.

We clutch the SLP set up for 7700-7750 and then when it settles you are 7650-7700 and it pulls good there. I have run at 7800 and it seems good, but like stated above, signs off hard at 7850-7900.
