Just curious as to who is running what belt, and why.

I can get the Dayco HPX 5020 for 53$ (Polaris 1080, 70$)

or I can step up to the Dayco XTX 5020 for 93$ (Polaris 1115, 160$)
The XTX looks just like the spendy Pol belt.

I was hoping to trade in the Polaris 1080 (spare belt) that came with my sled from TCP for some parts credit then going to Page Brake Warehouse and Picking up a XTX 5020 for 93$.

I know there is a lot of belt threads, but I just want to see where the numbers are.

Thanks, Harry

Bought my spare 1115 belts off of ebay for way less than the retail price($115 shipped) and worth every penny even though I haven't used them much. Broke them in about 500miles and put the originals back on. 5500 and 2500miles on originals. When I ran the 1080's on my Edge RMK's they'd last about 1200-1500miles and were shot for me. Might be overkill for my 600's but I never worry about blowing them like my buddies that still run the 1080's that come stock on there IQ's and SB's. Don't think I'll use a Dayco belt if possible, did in the XLT days.

Don't forget the Carlisle belts
Ultimax 3(1444640u-3) similar to the 3211080 Polaris belt
Ultimax XS809 similar to Polaris 3211115 belt.

I've run both of these on my 07 RMK 600 and 08 Dragon 700-155 with good results.
They also have a 1 year warranty.Send the belt back if it blows up,with the warranty card and a check for $6.New belt in a couple weeks:D.
Hard to beat this deal.

Both of these belts have been updated for 2010,slightly more expensive but the warranty pays for itself.

The Polaris 3211115's last forever. Even though they cost twice as much new, they last longer so in turn cost you no more in the end. Hardly any belt dust/residue under the hood either. Have you seen the mess a Polaris 3211080 makes when it explodes at the most needed moment??? 1115's are worth every penny!!!

I think the 3211111 comes as a standard belt on the new RUSH.

That being said the dimensions of the 1080=1111

Compound on the 1080 is softer than the Kevlar 3211115

Exactly what the differences are between the 3211115 and the 1111 I'm not exactly sure.??????????

i use carlisle xs 809 belts for my modified dragon, bought 3 for 180$ last month shipped. carlisle ultimax 3 144-4640U belts for my stock 02 xc 800, for 2 new ones over summer, i paid 100$ shipped. dragon came with a 3211122 but the crap belt's rope was coming out after 900 miles. the 3211080 were always blowing apart on my xc's around 1000 miles. i will not use polaris belts. although i would love to use the kevlar belts, 3211115....but those damn things are 150-180$ each. i pretty much got three belts for that price and i don't see how that one belt would outlast three xs809. my bro's fusion was killing polaris belts(3211080) until he switched to 809's. he bought 3 just in case and never blew one in 2300 miles. RANT OFF.

You should add the Carslile belts to your list. Quite a few fans of the XS around here. Including me. :D
I'm going to do my analogy again. The Polaris 1115 belt is like a touring tire. It is very hard and last a long time, but doesn't have the best traction. I can't prove it, but some people have developed grooving in the lower part of their primary clutch. Most attribute it to too much low speed slipping of the belt. Granted some of this is due to clutching.

The XS is like a sport bike tire very tacky and gives excellent grip. Plus it also gives great belt life. Plus as was stated the warranty is nice. Speaking with them shortly after these belts originally came out they said some sleds actually needed clutch adjustment. This belt was transferring so much more power and not slipping that they saw 600rpm drop on some cats.

the 1080 is not only a softer compound but a different sized belt. if you guys are looking for a cheaper replacement to the 115 then go with the 3211122 it is the exact same size as the 115 and a very similar compound and retails for $115. I primarily run the 115's on my sled but i do have a couple 122's that i use as well. have put over 400 miles a piece on the 122's and they still look brand new. my only issue with the 122's is they seem to heat up faster than the 115's there fore causing me to let my belt cool instead of riding

That's funny (not)! I have seen and eperienced that, and you're right, it happens at the most needed moment!!:beer;

I currently have the 115 belt on my D-7 but if or when i ever need to replace it i will go with the dayco belt...or whoever makes the belt for polaris. That would be alot cheaper cause i will not be paying for the name brand belt. Also that is all you pay for with the polaris belt is the name, because polaris does not make their own belts.

i dont have an opinion on which oem is best; but i do on going aftermarket:

my dad has a story about riding with Carl Struthers (Jack's dad) - the short version is Carl opened his hood, took off the belt, threw it into the woods and said,"get yourself a real belt" ie...polaris.

with that said i tried all of the non oem brands when i worked at WPS and none of them came close to the performance of poalris belts. that was on edge sleds and i assume it is still the same resluts...oem put a higher mark on the hill everytime, back to back.

Thanks for sheddin some light, very well said-I'm a big fan of the 122. It should be added to the list.
