What Helix do you recomend

A
Well I have a 600HO mostly stock with the 600R pipe. I am running stock 600HO clutching and still the 440 clutching on the secondary. I am now willing to spend the $$ on a helix and hook up the reverse. I kno I can run the RR helix or same angle as the 440. What is a better helix for backcountry with the above combo?

I went with a 66-44-46ER Helix with a EPI 160-240 sec spring. Works great!

You could also try the EPI gold in the primary with 10-62s,I can drag the back bumper on the ground with this setup and have yet to be beat 0-60mph.:) I am running 21/43 gearing which is good for about 86mph.

helix

this helix debate is interesting, I have spent countless hours (and dollars) trying to find a helix that will work on each of my sleds. What I (my experience, not saying it is perfect for you) have found is I like the 66-44 helix or something close to it. I ran an 07 HO with a dynoport last year and it ran REALY well compared to my riding buddies. It had reverse and I believe I ran the 64-42-36ER helix. Sea level I ran EPI gold with 10-60s and at 7-8K elevation, I ran 10-56 and EPI yellow. The crappy part is, clutching is fickle, what works on one guys sled might not work on the others. The one helix I have seen NOT work is the snowX helix that starts with 70 (70-44-42). Had a buddy who spent days clutching and clutching and in certain conditions, he couldn't pull revs. Changed to the 66-44-42 on the twin track and Viola! It rips!

I'm having the same problem I have an 2008 600rr with the 600ho and im trying to get some more low end grunt out of it. I've read that the 10-62 clutch weights are the way to go, but alot of people have told me that changing the spring in the secondary doesn't do much, I'm just wanting to try something new so any recommendations would be great thanks.

I went old school clutching on my 660......softer springs and lighter wts with a shallow progressive helix, unlike the big wt, heavy springs, big helix that most use. 62g polaris wts, team Ti pri 120-300 spring, 54-42F helix with a 122-155 Ti secondary spring. Revs straight to 8300 and holds to 80 mph, then a slight increase to 8400 towards a hundred. Iantomasi 660 with a stock polaris pipe, 40.5 carbs, 23-40 gears. I would use a 60-61g wt on a 600, the beauty of lighter springs and wts is better part throttle upshift so you're not revving 7g at 50 mph.

Put the EPI gold spring in the primary. Thats the spring if you can hook up. Your starting revs will be high enough that it will launch you if conditions are correct.

I am running a 56 42 46 helix at this time hoks up good on hard pack but not the greatest for powder. Has anyone tried a straight 44 or 46 Helix with thunder weights or any other adjustable weight?

You our on the money with your clutching here! for helix on the 660 i would run what is posted here and just throw weight to it to get it to pull.
