for the 05 ONLY..you if you go with a 19/42 gears..you WILL need a longer chain..

not sure how long, but thinking 92 pitch or so..i will find it and get back to you..

looking to change my gears tomorrow and am wondering if either of the stock gears are 19 or 42? The only thing i need is the two gears correct? Is clutching after re-gearing required to ride the rest of the season, or is it something i can hold off till spring?
Thanks,
Nolan

the stock 06 is 20/41. it's in the parts catalog
and yes you will need to re-clutch. ex: if you gear it lower, there will be less load and your shifting rpm will be higher

I'm a little confused with your chart. But if I go from stock gearing to 19/42 what clutching needs to be done? Just weights?
Thanks,
Nolan

y usually up one size on weights

and you would need a 76 pitch chain your ratio would be 2.21

i would try it with the 11-72's and see what r's you are getting. you may need to go to 11-74's. if so i have a brand new set i could sell ya for a very reasonable price.

Appreciate it BIGDAWG, So other than heavier weights is their any other clutching that needs to be done? Off topic but does any clutching need to be done when going from a 1080 to a 1115 belt?
Thanks,
Nolan

typically when going to the 1115 it takes more weight and stiffer spring in secondary. unless you are having problems with the wear of the 1080 i wouldn't switch. my brother is running the 1080 and it runs better than mine and i run the 1115.
What helix do you have? the 66/44 .46 like the rest of us?

I had the dealer switch everything over for the 115 belt at the beginning of the season. He set the deflection and such, but never changed any springs. This is also the time when he went from the 10-74's to the 11-72's. Right now all my clutching is stock, primary and secondary.

you might want to think about going to the 66/44 .46 / 66/42 .46 helix it really wakes these things up. a black/white secondary spring or a red/pink secondary spring.

yes the 1115 is a bit wider than the 1080.
