What kind of fuel mileage are you guys getting with a sled deck loaded.. I have a 18' enclosed trailer and a sled deck and I'm gettin the same mileage pulling or using the deck.. Only about 14-15 mpg .. 2009 dodge 2500 6.7l 6 speed

I have an '11 Cummins deleted on 35's. Pulling I get 13/14, just deck I can get 15-17 depending on roads.

We've been pulling w/duramaxes for years, always close to new so I think we've tried 'em all.
With 4 place inline & I know for a fact that the only way we ever get 10 or better is if the roads are glare ice.
Otherwise it's 8-10 mpg consistently year after year.

I will admit though that we push it harder than a wedding night dink.

Sounds about right. I wouldn't be complaining about those mileage numbers. Try 8-10 pulling 700 miles one way with a big gooseneck. When it comes down to it, fuel in the truck is one of the smallest expenses in sledding. Just don't worry about it and life is better.

Went from deck to 20' inline, didn't change milage at all, just cleaner and no worries about theft of stuff!

I figured I would of gotten better with the deck..

Those two sleds sticking up there create a lot of wind resistance. I thought decks would get better mileage too. Fact is it was only 1 or 2 mpg better. Trailers keep the sleds nice and clean and out of the salt slop.

I get about 2mpg better with the deck over the trailer. I also loose 2mpg just having the deck on the truck with no sleds on it. wind turbulence is a big deal. Eric

Yeah wind turbulence shouldn't be understated. In fact on my work truck I actually get the same mpg's with a ladder rack and 2 ladders as I do pulling a 4 place open trailer and 4 sleds.

We'd still be on our first trip if we were diving 65!

Lol. Only get so many hours of vacation to burn up a year.

Never fails there is always "that" 150 miles of road that it is white knuckled and everyone in the truck is awake no matter how tired they are. They want to see their demise coming!

When you get major trailer sway @ 85, I'd swear I could crush diamonds with my poop hole.

Crowwinds that make you Change lanes without turning the wheel. That drives the pucker factor up there to.
