Ok, first off, your stats say that you have over 4.2 billion posts. That's impressive. :)

I say Carl's Cycle kit. I have 2 of them and love them.

Re: Best 660

Well, I don't have any experience with any other 660 kits other then Carl's, which I'm running in a 2013 Pro. I did a bunch of research before dropping my cash, and I do not regret using Carl's Cycle. They've been building them since the earth cooled, do not use a piggyback controller, and don't make exaggerated horsepower claims. My experience is it works better then expected, the price was fair, and customer service is excellent.

will it keep up with a stock 800?

There are times and conditions when the Carls 660 will out accelerate the stock 800. The only time i have found the 800 to be any better is in very deep heavy snow when the heavier torque of the 800 will just slightly out pull the 660.

One of my riding partners will only ride a Carls 660.

I sure miss the one we had.

Yes and no...

will it keep up with a stock 800?

The 660 we have will keep up to our 2013 M800 Proclimb 162 (which has no problems against an 800 Pro)- up to 8500'. Bear in mind that when I ordered this package, I asked that it would run on pump gas from 3-7000'. I could have up the compression slightly, but didn't want the hassles of blending fuel IF we were to ride locally (poker run).
If you get an opportunity to ride one, you'll be impressed. Carl's did a great job.

I wonder if something is wrong with mine? Drag racing against stock Pro 800's they routinely beat me by 2 or 3 lengths. I got the Carl's clutching too.

I am not a believer at all in the 660's. Maybe it's because I ride at 8k and up but I bought into the hype and after owning it for a while I turbo' it and it was better but it doesn't even compare to my 800. In setup snow and racing down the trail the difference isn't as big.

My old '12 660 showed the same results. The 800 seemed to shine in most, if not all, aspects over the 660. Did the kit improve the stock 600? Yeah, probably...but I would have been more happy with the 800 (minus the fuel mapping issues).

Thanks for the responses guys. IDK how I got 4 million posts... 40 would be more accurate. I've been looking at the Carl's kit but have heard mixed reviews. Has anyone had any experience with Bikeman? I like that they have a billet head rather than just modifying the stock head.

Was this a Carl's 660 or somebody else's Cory?

Yeah riding at your altitudes require more than a 660. We ride 2,500-6,500 and mainly at 4,500-5,500 ft. Big power loss for your altitude.

I worked on one for a local guy year before last that was complaining of a runnability issue and low power. I diagnosed it as needing injectors.

After I installed new injectors, cleaned Power Valves, cleaned his clutches and replaced springs, I took it up to verify it ran....that thing would lay the wood on 2 800's. Run's the same primary weight as our NA 800's and almost the same secondary set-up.

Owner was real happy.

Any further thoughts on a Carl's 660? My understanding on the Pro's is that the pipe is not necessary, but they also offer the option of porting the lower half of the engine for more zip.

Thoughts on what makes the best combo for a Pro? I currently have a '10 Carl's 660 and it is funner than the stock 600 it is still finicky on getting the clutching just right and I quit spending money on clutch parts to try. I will give it credit though, I am 250# in my birthday suit.
