Does anyone know how much the RX1 MOTOR only weights? Maybe Apex too...

Turbo583 is doing a REV/Vector conversion, his weighs +43lbs more than a stock 800HO.

I found on another site, Vector motor and carbs weighed in at 118lbs & makes 120HP stock(793cc)/130HP Nytro (1050cc).

RX1 was 135HP and motor is ___lbs?

Apex is 150HP and motor is ___lbs?

my vec motor was 112lbs without carbs the rx1 if i remember right is 130lbs & apex motor is supposed to be a couple lbs lighter than the rx motor but not 100% on that.my nytro motor i havnt weighed but should be close to vec motor weight the block is the same just bigger cylinders.

Thanks!

Looks like ~18lbs more for that fourth cylinder.

I'm toying with the idea of RX1/Vector motor in a REV, boosted of course...
The Vector motor would fit the frame alot closer than the 4cyl.

Does the Vector/Nytro have clutch gear reduction also?

From some of the HP #'s I've seen so far, 1psi less boost= ~10hp less, so about 2psi more boost should be pretty close hp wise.

no gear reduction on nytro or vec i would say you need 2lbs of boost extra to keep up with a good running rx1 0r apex. the nytro is equal boost for boost it seems to like boost a little better than the vec motor spools super fast & makes great power .the nytro would be your best option but more money then the vec motor for sure ,but the vec motor is easy to tune & will run perfect in a wide range of conditon + makes more than enough power for most.:thumb::beer;

an rt with weight lost in the conversion and then the new motor in it rides just like a stockish RT.. i know mine doenst feel any heavier then it used to.. just a lot faster.

do it, you will enjoy the crap out of it.. and let me just say.. if you do it.. dont bother with gas.. do propane!!!!! the vector motor fits a LOT nicer as the lack of gear reduction, and the loss of the 4th cylinder make it fit between the bulkhead edges MUCH nicer.. the gear reduction case and the slight overall length increase definately make it a pain to fit stuff in.. and when you start having to make headers and manifolds.. its definately simpler.. an nytro would be sweet.. just kinda a pain to fit all the fueli stuff in it.

Thanks for the input.

I narrowed it down to either a Vector/Nytro motor or a RT1000 motor.

I sat on a Nytro today, tried to pull it on its side, wow they are still heavy. Right next to it was a 1200 Renegade, both pretty close, Nytro little easier.

I found a online boost calculator. If I'm shooting for 300+ hp, this is how it falls.

800HO 20# 299HP

RT1000 12# 301HP

Vector 25# 301HP

RX1 24# 301HP

Right now I'm leaning towards the RT1000, could change though, always wanted to try a 4 stroker...

not sure where or how you got those # for the vec or rx but i have a dyno sheet some where of the vec making 260hp at 15lbs boost & i beleave 300hp at 20lbs & the rx make 240hp at 12lbs so should be making 300hp at about 18-19lbs boost.
